5 Question Friday! :.: errands - dressed up/casual, books, vacations, spring

Yuck. =(

I am disturbed grossed out right now. Okay, back in middle school, I used to eat double quarter pounder's from McDonald's ALL the time. Ask my parents. If it was fast food, I preferred McD's 90% of the time. Or pizza. Anyways...

I really don't eat at McD's anymore. I go there for breakfast rarely, but as cheeseburgers go, I now go to Wendy's, or a steakhouse, or I cook my own hamburger meat.

Today I decided to go to McD's to get a double quarter pounder for the first time in YEARS. Literally. They were delicious when I was in middle school, so why wouldn't they be delicious now? Haha... well, it wasn't as good as I remembered. Actually, it was pretty disgusting. Sorry, but it was. I couldn't finish it. Well, live and learn.

I went to Wal-Mart immediately to purchase gum and freshen my breath. I'm feeling better now. At least I know to get a salad, or a grilled chicken sandwich, the next time. Chicken is healthier, and veggies are always good for you. Well, unless they're fried.

Other than disappointment, today was a pretty good day. Started out rough, but I made it through.

One day at a time.

1. Will you run to the store or to pick up a kid looking a mess?
Depends.
If I'm going into Panera to check on the schedule or to buy food/drink, then I will wear at least jeans and a presentable shirt. Since that's where I work.
But... on the other hand, in the evenings, later in the nights... when no one's really out... I will run last-minute errands in my PJ pants. By the way, here's a random picture of me from December 2009 at my parents' house during Christmas break (junior year of college!). Hehe.

Last night, for example, after work I went to Blockbuster to take back a couple DVDs and rent a couple more. I wore my Eeyore PJ pants. It was 9:30. It was getting late. And I think the two employees there were more concerned with getting their stuff done at closing time, as opposed to how I looked.
So... like I said, it depends.

2. Do you finish a book if it's boring or you don't like it?
As a young lady with an English degree, you would think that I would say "yes" to this.
But... I'm bad.
I give up VERY easily on stories that I don't like, or that I'm bored with. I know, I know. I should encourage people to keep reading, even if they don't want to turn the page. But I would feel fake for telling others to do that, for I myself don't finish an irritating book 70% of the time.

3. Beach or mountain vacations?
Hmmm. Good question! :D
Beaches are nice. I've been to some nice beaches throughout the years.
But... one of my dreams is to see more mountain areas. Now, I've never been up INTO the mountains, but visiting my friend Chelsea in Colorado, I've been some beautiful mountains. :)
So, to answer your question, I like both ideas. But beaches will always be there, 24/7, all four seasons. I'm thinking it'd be nice to stay at a cottage in the mountains. And sit in front of the fireplace. And drink hot chocolate. And play board games. And go sledding. And tell some of your favorite memories/stories. ^__^
But then, beaches are nice for collecting sea shells! Hehe.
And here's some memories that I want to share, again!

4. What thing/event says "winter will end and spring is right around the corner" to you?
The colors! The smell of spring. Daylight savings time.
Resurrection Sunday. Butterflies.
Flowers. Green grass. Trees and plants blooming.
St. Patrick's Day... GREEN!
Flip flops. T-shirts. Spring decor.
In other words, just about anything.
And also importantly.... NO SNOW!! =D

5. Would you prefer couples or family vacation?
Well, considering I've never been on that dream vacation with the man of my dreams, I can only relate to family vacations.
And I've had some great family vacations in times past! =D

It's Okay Thursday :.: excited about spring!

Hello, everyone! And Happy Thursday! Today I'm linking up with "Brunch with Amber" and "A Complete Waste of Makeup" for "It's Okay Thursday."

I'm really liking this blog idea! It gives you a chance to think about everything and anything.

Before I get started, let me just say that it has been another busy week for me. Been working, and I've been trying to spend more time outside instead of inside now that we're finally getting nice weather for hopefully awhile. No snow this week. Therefore, there was no sliding into curbs this week, thankfully.

Hehe.

Well, I do have more to say, but I must get started on this. I promise that I'll try to improve on posting more in here.

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Okay...

To still enjoy watching the movie It Takes Two... one of my favorite childhood movies. :)

To be SUPER excited about redecorating my apartment for spring... even though I will have to wait for maybe one or two paychecks. (Blog entry coming soon!)

To "brake" when approaching ducks in a parking lot. Awww.

To have watch the movie Titanic for the first time ever this past week, and to have loved it. And cried.

To kill a spider with a broom and have a burial at sea. Hehe. (Thanks, mom, for the idea! The broom really DOES kill them! :D.)

To be really, really happy for less spiders in the apartment.

To make impromptu supper plans with mom and dad. (I love you guys!)

To make impromptu lunch plans with friends. (I'll see you soon, Stacey and Cindy!).

To be disappointed when the lady who works at the laundromat didn't bring her puppy when I was there this week. :(

To panic when the toilet plugs and overflows RIGHT BEFORE inspection on Monday. Oh dear. That was an adventure!

To drink at least one bottled water before bed (it sure helps decreasing the charlie horses!).

To feel sad when someone unfriends and perhaps blocks me on Facebook, but then realize that it's probably a blessing in disguise not having that type of person in my life.

To watch an elderly couple come into the restaurant I work at, eat together, leave, and walk slowly across a parking lot, holding each other close with their canes and smiling, and to say to myself, "I want that kind of love someday."

5 Question Friday! :.: DST on Sunday, iPad, money, swimsuits

Hey, everyone!

I am now listening to "The Battle" from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe soundtrack. Just thought you would all like to know. :)

So, the weather this week has all over the place this week! On Sunday night, it was snowing. Really snowing! I guess I wasn't expecting it, or it was punishment from not checking the weather myself. I was out and about that evening. I slid into a curb at a red light from slamming on my brakes. Got a minor headache. That's all, thank goodness.

You would think as an Ohioan, I would know BY NOW that slamming on the brakes during winter conditions is never a good thing.

I should've probably kept driving.

BUT... allow me to say that at this traffic light, people on the other light end (perpendicular to you) are anxious to speed through when the light turns greens. Hmmm. So, as I saw the light turn yellow last second, I had a choice. Either slam on brakes and risk sliding or spinning, or drive through and risk wrecking. I chose the first option. Thank goodness, the car is okay. :D

On Monday, I had a hard time getting into the car and scraping the ice/snow off, and I had to crawl into the backseat to open all doors. Tuesday and Wednesday saw nice days. Sunshine. Warm temperatures. Thursday, it was cold again and rainy, but at least not snow! Today... chilly and sunny.

Other than that, things are well for me.

Well, here are my answers to 5 Question Friday! :D

1. Are you looking forward to the time change this weekend?
Definitely!
I don't care if we do lose an hour of sleep! I can just take a nap later on Sunday. ^__^
Although winter hasn't been too bad this year for Ohio, more daylight makes it seem like there are more hours in the day.

2. Are you getting the new iPad/would you want a iPad?
Uhhhh.... not really. I'm fine with a laptop. As well as good ole' fashioned pen & paper.

3. If money was not a problem, what is the one thing you would splurge on?
TRAVELING, of course! Plane tickets. Train tickets. Gas money. Restaurant money. Hotels/cottages/cabins money.
In fact, right now, I would love to drive to the nearest airport, pick a destination and GO!
Or to board a train like the track won't end. Or to drive as far as my heart leads.
If not traveling... then some more clothes.

4. How did you and the Mr. (or Mrs.) meet?
*sniffle*
I haven't met him yet. Or if I have, I'm not aware of it.
In the meantime, please refer to Michael Buble's "I Just Haven't Met You Yet" song.

5. Summer is right around the corner. Bikini or one-piece?
One-piece.
Yes, I know bikinis that are "hotter," but I definitely don't meet the weight limit on bikinis. And even if I did have the bikini "body type," I would still probably choose one-piece's or tankinis, or something modest. I was just raised that way. *shrugs*

Nothing much... just some encouragement. :)

I don't have much to write about at the moment.

But I did find some encouragement, and I want to share it with those who need it.

I found all of these photos on the web. I own none of them.

Happy Monday! :)

"Its okay" Thursday! :.: new blog colors :.: warm/cold/warm/cold

Hey, everyone! Happy March. :)

I realized that I hadn't changed my blog colors and layout for awhile, so here is my new theme. I think I'll keep this layout for awhile. I'm still working with the font and text though. So, those may change in a few days. We'll see.

Well... I've been up to "the norm" lately. Working. Resting. Eating. Taking walks. Thinking. Hanging out with friends.

Been checking out different churches and Bible study's in the area. Looking to get involved.

I've also been looking for a second part-time job. Panera is still going well, but there may be things in the near future that one job will not cover, so we'll see how things go. :)

Other than that... nothing much. Just here, now. Oh, and weather playing "warm and cold" with us. "Warmer, warmer, WARMER." Oh no. "You're cold now. Colder. Freezing."

And thankful to be alive!

Well, I've seen "'Its Ok"' Thursday" entries on blogs everywhere! I've enjoyed reading everyone's lists on on this. So, I've decided to join in! I'm linking up with "Brunch with Amber" and "A Complete Waste of Makeup."

And this is my FIRST "Its Ok" Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Okay...

That I ran out of time to read the books I checked out from the library two weeks ago.

To desire something that I can't have, as long as I don't waste too much time desiring it.

That it's March, and right now I'm listening to "O Holy Night" by Harvest.

To live on leftover spaghetti, PBJ, apples, eggs, chocolate milk, and Panera's salads/sandwhiches for the week.

That sometimes, there is NOTHING I can do to fix a situation.

To finally get a tax refund, after waiting for over a month.

That I miss playing Super Nitendo games.

To watch two particular episodes of 7th Heaven's fifth season DVD repeatedly this past month.

That I'm afraid of getting hurt on certain situations again.

To change the radio station when Adele's "Someone Like You" comes on! =P

That although I love my short hair, I do miss putting it up in a crazy bun for work.

To shake my district manager's hand yesterday, and have him tell me that my hands are dry and need lotion.

That I've recently started taking my vitamins again, after a 2-month "break" from them.

To not worry about pleasing everyone.

That I still cry when Mufasa from The Lion King dies.

To realize that I won't have it all together every minute of every day.

That I miss my college classes and chapel.

To crave Andy's Frozen Custard, even though none exist in Ohio.

That I love Reese's peanut butter cups and EGGS.

To not wear shoes in the library.

That I want to say more, but I must log off now. :(

Not much to say :.: random, clean & funny photos :)

Hello!

I cannot believe that it is Ash Wednesday already! This year is already going fast. February will be over next week. Crazy!

Well, I don't really know what to write about today, so I'm just going to post some photos that I've either received in emails, or have just come across. Enjoy! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Driving around :) :) :.: Smuckers :.: P. Graham Dunn

Happy Monday! Happy Presidents' Day, everyone!

It was a GORGEOUS day today. A little chilly, but very bright, very sunny, and just one those days where I couldn't stand still. I stayed busy the entire day today. I was off work, and I started my morning by cleaning the apartment. I did some extra cleaning this time, so it took me longer than usual, but at least I got it done. :)

Well, today I ended up visitng two tourist attractions that I'm sort of close to. Two places that I've known about for quite a long time, but never stopped by until now. The Smuckers and P. Graham Dunn shops.

Now, I had been to Smuckers before with my parents. I think I was in middle school when my parents introduced me to Smuckers. Well, I didn't get any pictures back then. But I have some now, because I went today. Hehe.

Very colorful place! :D

I love the busyness, yet calmness of the place!

Thank you to Mr. Jerome Smucker, I enjoy my PBJ with Smuckers' grape jam. :)

I really wanted to eat at the cafe, but I chose to buy souveniers instead. I'm looking forward to making the Funfetti cake! Hehe.

After Smuckers, I went to check out the P. Graham Dunn factory/store. I knew that they were a Christian company, and I had passed by this place many, many times, but finally visited today. I liked it a lot. Beautiful lobby! :D

Seeing "The Beautitudes" reminded of my Senior Colloquium class at MVNU, because we studied them for a good chunk of the fall semester in 2010. :)

I didn't buy anything at P. Graham Dunn.

But here I am in the mirror, trying not to shake my cell phone too much. ;)

And that was my Presidents' Day.

Have a wonderful evening, everyone! :D
