New Years :.: snow :.: eating :.: cooking blog! :.: work
Happy New Year, everyone! I am so excited to start fresh and have a new year to look forward to.
My New Year's was great! I actually had plans this year, which was really nice. One of my college roommates (from my junior year!) invited me to her house for a get together with some of her church friends.
It was fun! Here's some pictures from that night. :)
As you can see, lots of card playing, talking, socializing, and eating... and of course, watching the ball drop. :)
It was nice to see one of my old roommates again! And I really enjoyed the little road trip. It was 1 hr & 30 minute drive both ways for me, and I didn't get back to my apartment until about 2 AM. I was very thankful for good weather and safe travels. :)
Since New Year's Eve, I've been either working or finding some way to keep myself busy each day.
Work is still going well. As of January 4, we started a new celebration, so we have some new menu items. It looks like our featured item this celebration is SALMON. hehe. We also have a new iced tea, which is has concord grapes and berries in it, and it has no sugar, no carbohydrates, and no calories. And of course, we have a couple new bakery items. Yum. Can you all tell that I'm going to enjoy this celebration? hehe. I am! I wasn't too excited on some of the things from our Christmas (yes, I said "Christmas." Not holiday.) celebration. This next one really excites me! :D
We've also hired some new employees these past few days, week, month, etc. I think we're going to have some more new people pretty soon.
Other than work, I've been either out and about, exploring my new home areas, I've been cold. Brrrr. For awhile, we were having a pretty decent winter. We actually didn't have a white Christmas, but that is okay. We pretty much have a white Christmas every year, so 2011 was a nice break. But this week, it has been COLD. It was 19 degrees a couple of days ago, in the mid-morning. We had our first real snowfall this week.
And for those of you who don't know what snow is, it is a white, powdery, sometimes icy, slippery, and potentially dangerous work of art that arrives uninvited (well, maybe sometimes invited), and it causes water to freeze.
Hehe.
What else have I been doing? Well, I've been eating. Lots of eating. And I've also started cooking.
Yes, it's true. I am learning how to cook. I made my first entree on Monday, which was my New Year's meal. Spaghetti! It turned out well. :)
There will be more pictures of this, and the process of making it in.... MY NEW BLOG!
Yes, that's right, ladies and gentlemen.
Please visit my Adventures in Cooking blog. Now, I am working on the first entry (spaghetti!) right now, so it is not yet published. Give me about 20 more minutes (4:20pm EST).
I'm looking forward to this new blog, as well as continuing my current blog.
Have a blessed Thursday evening!
And... forgive me of how squished my entry looks. I'm not understanding Blogger's new format, so my entries just because squished. I meant for spaces between my words/subject. Grrr.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a nice new year's eve and didn't have snow for Christmas. It was cold for a few days here, no snow yet but we usually get a little each year. It's in the 60s for highs all week here, so I'm really enjoying that, it seems like it's warmer everywhere, actually.
That's kinda neat that Panera "celebrates" different menu items. Never heard of anything like that before :).

Sounds like you had a fun New Year's Eve! I have yet to see snow this year, but I certainly have not missed it. I'm sure we'll see some eventually though. Congrats on making your first meal! I am now following your cooking blog.
